We want to build confidence and self-esteem, enforce a strong value system, and provide an environment that will nurture growth and development for every dancer. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality dance instruction to allow students the opportunity to grow and develop into well rounded, technically strong, and appreciative dancers.

Layla Dance Academy is a mobile dance and gymnastics company that goes into preschools, daycares, and elementary schools and teaches dance and gymnastics right there on site! We have professional, licensed and technically trained teachers that take great pride and joy in their craft. We offer classes for ages two years old and up! When your child is a dancer or gymnast with Layla Dance Academy, they are not just our students, they are family. 💜

Toddler Creative Movement, Introductory Dance
Toddler dance is a wonderful introductory class for toddlers ages 2 years. Primary focus of this class includes body awareness, balance, enjoyment of music, basic classroom skills such as; standing in line and following directions, and basic large movement skills such as jumping and skipping as well as basic ballet and jazz technique. A fun variety of music and the use of props makes this class a blast! We use imagery to get dancers excited and engaged. This class meets once a week for 30 min.
Petite Dance
This is an hour long class for ages 3-5 years old that meets once a week. Petite dance is a fun, energetic class whether your child is new to dance or has had previous classes; it will be the perfect fit. It introduces the dancers to the basics of ballet, tap (if the location allows), and jazz as well as enjoyment of music, classroom skills such as; standing in line, following directions, focus, independence and an introduction to more advanced skills such as leaps and turns. A fun variety of music and props gives this class that extra bit of sparkle.


Gymnastics
Our gymnastics program offers introductory classes for ages 2 years old and 3-5 years of age. Fun, upbeat music keeps this class moving along and your gymnasts will definitely want to get up and move it, move it! Introductory skills such as pike jumps, star and tuck jumps, donkey kicks, somersaults, and head stands are the focus of these classes. Class meets once a week for either 30 min or for one hour.
Ballet 1
Students will learn ballet fundamentals and terminology while developing strength, confidence, balance, and flexibility. Your child will have a clear understanding of body alignment, movement quality, and carriage of the upper body. This class is once a week for one hour and is for ages 6-10 years old.


Introductory Dance
Whether you’re looking to learn new dance moves or hone in on your existing talent, this class is what you are looking for. The instructors are committed to giving each student attention while also moving the class forward. Lizeth Katz
Dance/Gymnastics Instructor
Lizeth was born in Monterrey Mexico and started dancing at the age of 8 years old. Her passion and love for dance made her eager to learn different styles of dances and train in ballet, jazz, contemporary, Polynesian and many additional styles. She came to the United States to study and pursue her career in dance and did so by graduating from the university of Texas at Austin with a degree in Fine Arts in Dance. Lizeth has taught children and adults for over 5 years and truly believes that dancing can build a beautiful community through people and it is a great way to express your feelings without restrictions.
Katie Johnson
CEO/Dance Instructor
Colorado native and mother of her two year old son, Katie began dancing at the age of three and hasn’t stopped yet! She has a deep passion for dance as well as the education of movement, dance, and music. Classically trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, Latin salsa and ballroom, she has traveled the nation dancing professionally in shows such as “Sizzle Las Vegas” and “Dreamgirls.” She also danced professionally in Las Vegas, Nevada and even coached a varsity championship winning high school dance team for two years. Katie has over 15 years of teaching experience from ages 18 months through adults and has been a professionally dancer for most of her life. Katie taught for the Colorado Ballet outreach program for five years and she also traveled teaching cotillion, which focuses on social education and social dance. Katie started Layla Dance Academy because she wanted to share her love of movement and dance with younger generations. When not teaching or performing she enjoys hiking with her son and two dogs and she loves to watch football, she is an avid Denver Broncos fan!


Arianna Nunez Jordan
Dance/Gymnastics Instructor
Arianna Nuñez Jordán (dancer, teacher and choreographer) was born in Cuba. She graduated from the Manuel Muñoz Cedeño Professional School of Arts with BA: Contemporary and Folklore Cuban Dance. In 2012 she began her higher education at the University of Arts (ISA), in 2018 she graduated from Bachelor of Arts in Dancing Arts, profile of Contemporary Dance. She worked with the French Association TROPICUBA in 2014 for the IV Salsa D’Cuba Congress, Lloret del Mar, Spain. From 2015 to 2019 she joined the dance company LOS HIJOS DEL DIRECTOR. Performing in important events and festivals: COLORS International Dance Festival (2017) Stuttgart, Germany; Fall for Dance North (2018) Toronto, Canada; Cuban Festival of Joyce Theater (2019) New York. She worked as a teacher of ballet and Cuban Salsa at the Academy of Americas Arts at the Emma Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (Austin). Since 2019 she has worked at Corazón Latino Dance Studio as a choreographer and teacher of Latin rhythms for adults and ballet for children. She is currently a dancer at Chamacos Dance Company (Texas).
